Questions answered for Sunday's Mt. Lemmon Marathon
MT. LEMMON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Questions about security
at Sunday's Mt. Lemmon Marathon have been answered.
Tucson News Now has found
out what is being done to make sure runners and those watching the race stay safe.
After the Boston bombings
security is a topic that has been discussed by organizers and the Pima County
Sheriff's Department.
The Mt. Lemmon Marathon,
Half and 10K sends runners from the desert floor, up the Catalina Highway,
ending at Summerhaven. Since the course is almost continuously climbing, the
race is called one of the toughest marathons in the U.S.
The sheriff's department
tells Tucson News Now that those working on Sunday will be extra vigilant; it
has been included in the briefings. The
one major difference between the marathon here and the one in Boston is that
this race isn't nearly the same spectator event.
